It is the only English language test for immigration to Australia, as well as in the UK and Canada.

About Exam

IELTS Is an International Standardized Test is taken by non-native English speakers to study in an English-Speaking Country. It assesses the fluency of the English language. There are two types of IELTS tests: Academic and General Training. Academic IELTS is recommended when studying in an English-speaking country. General Training is recommended for migration and employment. IELTS tests your language proficiency in Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. The IELTS score is assigned a 1-9 rating.

Test Structure

The IELTS test consists of four modules: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. Scores are calculated in bands for each module and for the overall test. Listening, Speaking, and Reading modules are the same for all candidates while Writing and Reading modules vary depending on whether they are taking the Academic or General Training versions.

Score Pattern

There is a Band Score Pattern used to score each version of the Listening test. A Band Score conversion table is then produced for each version of the listening test, converting scores from 40 to the IELTS 9-band scale.
A mark is awarded for each correct answer in the 40-item test. It is very important to ensure good spelling and grammar when writing answers on the answer sheet. Scores are given on Score Bands of 9 and then an average is taken to compute the main score.
